When downloading .jpg files they sometimes show up in Paintshop and sometimes in Windows Photo Gallery, which is the preferred site. Is it possible to make them all download to the Windows site? Occasionally it's worth transferring the image to Paintshop if it needs manipulating in some way, but Paintshop keeps on trying to sell me unnecessary updates which is irritating and is therefore used as little as possible.
Cheers,
Mark.

Are you downloading direct from the camera or via a card reader? Are you using Autoplay to open the card for downloading automatically, or are you getting a list to select from? By "Paintshop", do you mean Corel's Paint Shop Pro? What version?

Jon - As usual many thanks for the reply - I'm mainly downloading from attachments to mail - though occasionally direct from from a camera as I haven't got a card reader.
The trouble is that when trying to download and view .jpg files from mail there doesn't seem to be an option as to which medium you want to use - the computer arbitrarily uses either Paintshop Pro X2 or Windows Photo Gallery, which would be the preferable first choice because any manipulation of the image could then be undertaken by Photoshop, itself exceedingly iritating because it tries very hard to sell me updates I don't need.
Cheers,
Mark.

Sounds like you're telling (Outlook? OE?) your mail program to open the files, not to [/i]save[/i] them and then saving them from whatever program you end up in. I save directly from my mail program (be it Outlook, OE, SeaMonkey or Thunderbird) and get to choose my directory. I've also associated JPEG files with Irfanview, so even if I do double-click them to open, I end up in that.
